Abstract
Presents a study which described a microwave infrared rainfall algorithm that combines satellite passive microwave and infrared data to account for limitations in both data types. Data and methods for evaluation of the microwave/infrared rainfall algorithm (MIRA); Principles and illustration of a satellite passive combined MIRA; MIRA validation and conclusions.
