Abstract
Community colleges around the nation are using innovative ideas to navigate the economic downturn. California's San Diego Community College District, Florida's Miami Dade College, and Washington State's Bellevue College are among systems using approaches such as early planning and decision making based on expertise in economics, finance, and development. In addition, they are devoted to their mission of continuing to provide access to all students.
