Abstract
The article focuses on the testing methods of respiratory virus (RV) to distinguish it from influenza. It discusses the importance of multiplexed molecular assays which can accurately identify a range of respiratory viruses. It offers information on a study conducted to evaluate the performance of different influenza A testing methods during the H1N1 outbreak in the New York City area, in which multiplexed tests proved to be best diagnostic option in respiratory testing.
