Abstract
The article presents a study on the dynamics of surface carbon stocks in selectively lumbered tropical forest in French Guiana. The study investigated the tropical tress in the place with or without intensive timber stand improvement (TSI) for 23 years. It notes the comparison of carbon dioxide emissions and sequestrations among trees with or without TSI. It concludes that within half a century, aboveground carbon storage can be recouped after logging and curbed harvest intensities.
