Abstract
An encyclopedia entry for Jewish physician Claribel Cone is presented. Born on November 14, 1864, she was known as a charming, idiosyncratic and highly independent woman with interest in medical research and art collection. She decided to study at the Women's Medical College to become a physician although her parents encouraged marriage. Her family belonged to a local Reform temple and maintained strong ties with other German Jews.
