Abstract
A chapter from the book "Draw Faces and Expressions" is presented. The chapter suggests various surfaces to draw on such as ordinary, inexpensive paper, ledger bond, and watercolour papers. It suggests that ordinary paper is good as any paper while a ledger bond comes in as smooth, semi-rough, or rough. However, watercolour papers come in various degrees of smoothness. It also suggests that ingres papers are ideal for pastel drawings while sketchbooks are best when with thin, smooth paper.
