Abstract
The article discusses the case of a 55-year-old African American woman who was diagnosed with aspergilloma caused by aspergillus niducans. The result of the patient's frontal chest radiograph reveals a large cavity lesion with a thick irregular wall in the apex of the right lung. It cites the benefits of the use of computed tomography (CT) in assessing morphological features of cystic and cavitary lesions unseen on chest radiographs. It notes that aspergillomas may respond to prolonged courses of oral itraconazoles.
