Abstract
The article reports on the introduction of enterprise options for the Open Calais web service by Thomson Reuters. Open Calais offers entity identification and semantic metadata through the identification of facts and events in context. According to Thomson Reuters Clear Forest chief executive officer (CEO) Barak Pridor, the metadata is governed by the terms of the Thomson Reuters and Calais privacy statements. Thomson Reuters is using partnerships to develop most of the major tools around the service.
