Abstract
The article focuses on reports of multistate outbreak of human Salmonella enterica serotype Schwarzengrund infection caused by contaminated dry dog food in the U.S. from 2006 to 2007. The outbreak strain was identified as XbaI pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) pattern JM6X01.0015. The dry dog foods that have caused the outbreak were produced at a manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania.
