Abstract
The author relates how two collectors of metal artefacts discovered their collection at a local farmer's garden in Suffolk, England. The detectorists found a hoard of Republican and early Imperial Roman silver coins. Hundreds of coins were unearth at the farm site. Shards of Roman pottery in an ancient rubbish pit belonging to a small Roman villa was uncovered by the archaeological excavators.
