Abstract
The article discusses the research on the heritability of the ambulatory arterial stiffness index (AASI) which is obtained from ambulatory blood pressure monitoring in 260 healthy siblings from 118 Swedish families. The AASI and 24-hour pulse pressure indicated to be significantly heritable before and after adjustment for classical covariates. The results suggest that the indices are partially under genetic control and can capture independent information on inherited factors
