Abstract
The article focuses on the advantages and limitations of vaginal drug administration for hospitalized women, mainly for the treatment of genitourinary conditions or for contraceptive purposes. It stated that administering drugs directly into the vagina can often be achieved without the systemic adverse effects observed with oral or parenteral drug administration. Furthermore, disadvantages of vaginal drug administration include the possibility of irritation or leakage.
