Macrocyclic effect in extraction of metals by crown compounds containing diphenyloxy spacers.

Abstract
The article discusses the macrocyclic effect of crown compounds containing diphenyloxy spacers in extraction of metals. Crown compounds were identified using spectroscopy, direct injection and elemental analysis. Results showed that the pseudodihedral angle formed by the benzene rings in the diphenyloxy spacer is near a right angle. It was also found that the macrocyclic effect for crown ethers depends on extracted metal, and on the size and denticity of the endoreceptor macrocycle.
