This article presents the author's analysis of the scholarship of Tim Cook, a prominent political scientist, who wrote extensively on the relationship between the press and political parties. She credits his book, "Governing With the News," as a major contribution to the field of political communication. The author also credits him with significant scholarship in legislative studies, presidential politics, elections and voting behavior, lesbian, gay, and bisexual politics, and perhaps most notably, political communication. Cook succumbed to complications related to a brain tumor in 2007.
