Abstract
The article discusses U.S. veterinary forensic scientist Melinda Merck. She uses crime scene investigation (CSI) tools to catch animal cruelty offenders. Merck is publishing the textbook "Veterinary Forensics: Animal Cruelty Investigations," in June 2007. According to a Northeastern University study, people who commit animal cruelty are five times more likely to commit violent crimes against people.
