Abstract
The article focuses on the effects of team teaching on children with mental retardation. The Harvard University Graduate School of Education and Claremont Graduate School have been the active centers for the study and development of such methods of teaching since 1957. At the Slover Special School in Fontana, California, there were two pre-existing factors which made the change to team teaching possible without financial or major administrative changes. An early planning step in team teaching program at Slover was to choose areas which would be emphasized during the part of the day spent in team teaching.
