Abstract
This article presents a case study of a six-month-old male Pug with pyodemodicosis, a skin disease caused by mite infestation, complicated by ulcerative keratitis. The dog was successfully treated with fluralaner, cephalexin, and topical antimicrobial shampoo for the skin condition, as well as ophthalmic treatments for the eye infection. After eight weeks of treatment, there was a reduction in mite count and complete clinical recovery. The article provides a detailed account of the case history, treatment protocol, and observations. It concludes that fluralaner and autologous serum, along with supportive treatment, can effectively manage pyodemodicosis and ulcerative keratitis in dogs. [Extracted from the article]
