Abstract
This article discusses the efficacy and safety of endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) for treating colorectal lesions in the largest Portuguese registry. The study included 48 patients with colorectal lesions who underwent EFTR between November 2020 and October 2023. The primary outcomes measured were technical success, resection rates, adverse events, and recurrence rates. The results showed that EFTR was an effective and relatively safe technique for resecting complex colorectal lesions, reducing the need for surgical overtreatment. The curative resection rate for invasive lesions was 41%, and there was a high rate of surgical specimens without residual cancer in patients with non-curative resections. [Extracted from the article]
