Abstract
Lemierre's disease, a rare condition characterized by bacterial pharyngitis leading to thrombophlebitis of the jugular vein, is discussed in this case report. The patient, a young and healthy man, presented with symptoms including a painful and stiff neck, headache, and slurred speech. He was diagnosed with Lemierre's disease based on clinical and radiological findings, and received multidisciplinary treatment. Unusual manifestations of the disease in this case included ophthalmoplegia and bilateral hypoglossal nerve palsy. The report highlights the challenges in managing Lemierre's disease and the need for prompt recognition and appropriate antimicrobial treatment. [Extracted from the article]
