Abstract
This article discusses a method for estimating residual stresses in metal samples produced by additive manufacturing, specifically focusing on steel cylindrical bars produced by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). The method involves making a partial longitudinal cut in the bar using electrical discharge machining (EDM) and measuring the resulting deflection to assess the contribution of residual stresses. The study combines experimental analysis with numerical simulation using finite element modeling (FEM). The proposed method allows for the estimation of residual stresses in the laboratory without the need for special equipment. The article also provides a list of references that cover various topics related to residual stresses and mechanical properties of additively manufactured stainless steel, which can be useful for further research.
