Abstract
"Drawing Deportation: Art and Resistance among Immigrant Children" by Silvia Rodriguez Vega explores the experiences of Latinx immigrant children in the United States who face the fear of deportation. Through interviews, surveys, observations, and visual studies, Rodriguez Vega analyzes the drawings and artistic expressions of over 300 children to demonstrate how art serves as a coping mechanism and form of resistance. The book provides a comprehensive background on the systemic issues underlying immigration experiences and critiques the U.S. immigration system and its policies. Rodriguez Vega emphasizes the need for immigration policy reform and the inclusion of art programs in education to support immigrant children. [Extracted from the article]
