Abstract
The article discusses the need to transform nursing education in order to address the health disparities and social determinants of health in the United States. The author emphasizes the importance of community nursing and highlights the historical role of nurses in providing care within communities. The article suggests that nursing education should shift away from a hospital-focused model and instead focus on community-oriented care. The author also mentions the potential benefits of using simulation in nursing education to prepare students for diverse real-world situations. The article references the successful implementation of a multidisciplinary primary care model in Costa Rica as a potential example for the United States to follow.
