Abstract
In "The Tomb of the Mili Mongga: Fossils, Folklore, and Adventure at the Edge of Reality," Samuel Turvey, a biology professor at the Institute of Zoology in London, recounts his journey into the Indonesian hinterlands in search of mythical human-like creatures called mili monggas. Turvey explores the folktales surrounding mili monggas, which describe them as hairy wildmen and women with long, pendulous breasts who lived in caves. He investigates whether mili monggas were a prehistoric society or a myth inspired by fossil records. Turvey's travelogue combines natural history, folklore, and personal experiences to provide a captivating exploration of belief and knowledge. [Extracted from the article]
