Abstract
The article discusses the efforts of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in combating the global HIV pandemic. PEPFAR, along with partner governments and organizations, has saved millions of lives and made progress towards achieving the UNAIDS "95-95-95 targets" in sub-Saharan Africa. The article emphasizes the need for transformative political leadership, sustained financial commitment, and program innovation to sustain the HIV/AIDS response. It also highlights the importance of addressing knowledge gaps and integrating HIV services with other healthcare needs, such as hypertension and mental health.
