Abstract
A recent study published in the European Journal of Heart Failure investigated the effects of acyl ghrelin infusion on growth hormone (GH) release in patients with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). The study found that acyl ghrelin significantly increased circulating GH levels in these patients. The researchers also observed a correlation between acyl ghrelin and GH concentrations. These findings suggest that treatment with acyl ghrelin may lead to an appropriate rapid GH response and increased cardiac output in patients with HFrEF. However, the study had a modest sample size, and further research is needed to confirm these results. [Extracted from the article]
