Abstract
AIM: The main objective of the present study is to assess the levels of CK-MB and lipid profile among diabetic male and female patients.Methods:A total of 80 people were chosen from the santosh medical college OPD,department of General Medicine, with 40 men and 40 women suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus. The patient’s lipid profile and cardiac marker (CK-MB) were tested after a baseline clinical and anthropometric evaluation.Results: Male patients with type 2 diabetes had significantly higher cholesterol and CK-MB level than female patients.Conclusion: Determination of the level of CK-MB helps in assessment of progression of diabetes and it is recommended to be performed clinically in routine practice.
