Abstract
The article focuses on the importance of International Nonproprietary Names (INN) in the pharmaceutical industry. It highlighting their role in identifying and defining pharmaceutical substances, promoting patient safety; facilitating communication among healthcare professionals; the potential conflicts between INN and trademarks; and emphasizing the need to avoid trademark registrations that resemble or incorporate INN stems to prevent confusion and medication errors.
