Abstract
The drug release systems are useful in controlling efficacy, improvement of function and reduction of side effects of drugs. Herein, Poly (ε-caprolactone) (PCL)/Poly (N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) (PVP) core-shell nanofibers loaded by multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were produced. The surfaces of nanofibers were coated by polypyrrole (PPy) via vapor phase and chemical method. The chemical method was desirable according to SEM images and electrical conductivity of about 502.89 ± 45.25 S/m. Electrical stimulation was performed in the coated sample and the release of 5-fluorouracil (5FU) was investigated. Drug release of non-coated and coated samples without/with field application was investigated. The results exhibited the electric signal could be considered as a drug release control factor for coated samples with electrical field application. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
