Abstract
The article focuses on the characteristics of pulmonary cysts associated with the diffusing capacity of the lung in patients with lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). Topics include the surface area of cysts with the reduction in diffusing capacity than the volume of cysts, the proximity effect of cysts on gas exchange in the adjacent lung tissue, and role of cysts distribution in the functional impairment of LAM patients.
