Abstract
An editorial is presented on major research fields and everyday issues in teacher education. Topics include assessment for learning, narrative pedagogies, artefacts, professional behaviour, status, career, identities; and complexity of the work of teachers and teacher educators and the political and social contexts of teacher education.
