Abstract
The article explores social media comments on Salman Rushdie's 1998 novel "The Satanic Verses" with torrid erotic romances and page-turner thrillers. Topics include Hadi Matar's attack as proof that Islam is a dangerous creed, and that its adherents cannot live peacefully in Western nations; and passionate condemnation of racism and religious bigotry with an elaborate insult to Islam.
