Abstract
C. albicans causes specific enrichment of IFN-I responses, and genetic variations in the IFN-I pathway are linked to susceptibility to candidiasis and aspergillosis. Type I interferons (IFN-I) are crucial in antiviral host defense. Conventional dendritic cells mount a type I IFN response against Candida spp. requiring novel phagosomal TLR7-mediated IFN-beta signaling. Type I interferons during host-fungus interactions: Is antifungal immunity going viral?. [Extracted from the article]
