TNCC provider reimbursement is not directly linked to individual encounter revenue, but rather total provider relative value units (RVUs) from management of in-house patients and TNCC consultations are pooled and divided among providers into the base salary. Teleneurocritical care (TNCC) is rapidly expanding to provide neurocritical care consultation where none is available. These TNCC models, combined with existing telemedicine guidelines, can be used to (1) help others build and refine their own TNCC and (2) propose initial TNCC quality benchmarks and strategies.
