Abstract
The article focuses on teaching writing in kindergarten with mentor texts. It highlights the impact of providing good models of written text to children on their writing quality. It offers suggestions to teachers on teaching writing with an author study which include considering a diverse group of authors, selecting an author with multiple texts and studying the author's digital presence with the class, as of September 2021.
