TikTok™ and dermatology: lessons for medical education.

Abstract
If the social power of TikTok could be harnessed for reliable educational development, this could flatten hierarchies, inspire a new generation of dermatology educators and have implications for widening participation. Social media (SoMe) can be effective in supplementing medical education. We read with interest the recent article by Roche I et al i . in I Clinical and Experimental Dermatology i , in which the authors acknowledge the increasing popularity and usage of the TikTok™ platform for dermatology and the dangers of harmful dissemination of health-related content.1 We offer further reflections on opportunities and risks with such platforms, specifically related to dermatology medical education.
