Abstract
Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic autoinflammatory skin disease that affects hair follicles in apocrine gland-bearing areas and leads to abscesses, nodules, fistulas, and scarring. At a clinical revaluation in May 2020 she presented a sum of seven draining fistulas on the right and left axillary areas with an abscess on the left axilla and multiple nodules (Figure 1A,B), three draining fistulas and one inflamed nodule in the left groin and multiple non-inflamed nodules on the right thigh (International Hidradenitis Suppurativa Severity Score System - IHS4 502). After 4 months of treatment, a great improvement was observed with no active fistulas nor abscesses on the axillary areas bilaterally (Figure 1C,D) and a single draining fistula on the left groin (IHS9).
