Abstract
The article profiles Ajpach'Waal, an emissary of the king of the Maya city of Calakmul. Topics discussed include meeting between the 13th king of Copan, known to scholars today as 18 Rabbit, and Ajpach'Waal, and description of the hieroglyphic staircase dedicated by Ajpach'Waal after his audience with Copan's king and was first discovered by University of California, Riverside, archaeologist Kenichiro Tsukamoto and his team in 2009.
