Abstract
Highlights from the article: Amyloidosis is a multisystem disease involving tissue deposition of misfolded proteins resulting in organ dysfunction and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Trends in the proportions of all hospitalizations attributed to patients with a diagnosis of amyloidosis and inpatient mortality in amyloidosis hospitalizations were assessed using Poisson regression. Amyloidosis-associated factors such as coagulopathy, renal failure, plasma cell dyscrasia and cerebral amyloid angiopathy may contribute to the observed high burden of ICH among patients with amyloidosis.
