Abstract
The authors convey their concerns about immunization programmes and notification of vital events in low- and middle-income countries. Topics discussed include a link created between civil registration and vital statistics and the immunization programme in 2017, the role of community health workers in immunization programmes for vulnerable populations, and population estimates based on reliable civil registration and vital statistics data.
