Abstract
The article provides an overview of the historiography of science in Latin America, providing a discussion of issues faced by historians of science such as Western versus non-Western views of science, issues of race and indigenous peoples, North and South, and issues of developed versus developing countries. Classroom assignments and readings are suggested. Topics include 18th-19th century Spanish-American scientist Andres del Rio, the History of Science in Latin America and the Caribbean website, and indigenous science of peoples such as the Aztecs, Maya, and Inca.
