Abstract
The authors examine advances in antimicrobial stewardship metrics in the inpatient setting as of February 15, 2018. Topics mentioned include antimicrobial stewardship standards implemented by the Joint Commission on January 1, 2017 for various types of healthcare entities, standardized measurement of antimicrobial consumption, and antimicrobial stewardship program criteria published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to be met as a condition of participation.
