Abstract
The article explores the discovery of what appears to be a 12th century government healthcare system at Angkor Thom in the ancient Khmer Empire in Cambodia by a group of archaeologists from Cambodia and Singapore . The artifacts found at the site reportedly includes rare statues which are part of the hospital complex that was built by Jayavarman VII. Also discussed are Jayavarman's leadership, his practice of Buddhism, and the statue of a Buddha in meditational repose.
