Abstract
The article focuses on the history of the lives of the people in Pompeii ancient Roman city that was buried for centuries under the Ash of Mount Vesuvius. The important role played by the city, which has thriving port and seaside resort wherein wealthy Romans had vacations homes, is mentioned. The success of scientists and historians in discovering the way of life of the people in the Roman town after it was covered by the eruption of the Vesuvious volcano is also offered.
