The article focuses on the restoration of the 1890 Carl Barckhoff organ at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburn, New York. The project involved the use of historic methods and materials while incorporating a limited amount of modern materials in crucial areas to improve the organ's longevity and function. Organbuilders at Parsons restored the deteriorated pipework and repaired severely cracked wooden parts, replaced missing components and strengthened key components.
