Abstract
The authors identify some of the major challenges for clinicians, regulators, and human research ethics committees in the clinical translation of clustered regularly interspersed short palindromic repeats (CRISPRs)-mediated somatic cell therapy. Topics mentioned include adequacy of regulatory processes in the context of somatic cell therapies, a list of specific regulatory uncertainties that require attention, and broader stakeholder engagement in risk assessment.
