Abstract
The article offers information about hepatitic C infection for primary care providers in the U.S. Topics discussed include the estimated 2.2 million to 3.2 million hepatitis C-infected persons in the U.S., complications such as hepatic fibrosis, the testing of patients born between 1945 and 1965 as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and treatment with oral direct-acting antivirals.
