Abstract
The article explores the transformation of Latin teaching in Great Britain in the 20th century. Topics include the author's claim that the change in Latin teaching in this century was second-order considering interrelated aspects such as nature and methodology, expectations and audience, and market forces, the process of change which involves the social attitudinal shift and resistance to change, and the application of the sciences of complexity and chaos theory within the social sciences.
