Abstract
The article discusses the strategy to control sleeping sickness or Human African Trypanosomiasis (HAT), which in Africa is caused by T. b. gambiense. Topics include role of vector control, and medical interventions, which is used for humanitarian purposes, role of institutions like COCTU (Coordinating Office for the Control of Trypanosomiasis in Uganda), vector control programs from nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and controlling Tsetse flies.
