Abstract
The article discusses the author's views on the significance of Close Reading in teaching and guiding students into writing and comprehension of the English and American literature. She explores the concept that gets ideas from prior knowledge and implement them in various ways to demonstrate standards and student performance. The author thinks that Close Reading is a method of teaching reading comprehension and is the end result of the Common Core State Standards.
