Abstract
The article focuses on the restricted-substance regulations in the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVACR) industry. Topics discussed include the prohibition of the use of hazardous materials in electrical and electronic products, the purpose of Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) directive to help manufacturers understand chemical risks, and the six chemicals prohibited by Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS).
